Knuckleheads in the Spotlight by Cupcake Sarah 03/23/11  We are so excited to announce that we have found a solution to many of our customers, (and parents everywhere) questioned dilemma, "Why are the boys clothes never as fun as the girls"? Well we now give you Knuckleheads! One of our newest boys line sold in both of our store locations. . Knuckleheads was created by a husband and a wife duo. After finding their son covered in mud and oil too many times when he would go to Dad's custom motorcycle shop the husband suggested to his wife that she make their son a pair of overalls; she did, and so began the clothing line. After looking around for ideas, she began to realize that there were so many different things that were available in adult sizes but not kid sizes. The duo began to create a list of what they thought would be cute for little guys and the first 5 designs came from that original brainstorming session. Currently, Knuckleheads is the sole family business; even their kids are a part of the design process, so much so that if their kids don't like it and won't wear it, they won't make it. Knuckleheads most recent collection was inspired by color, what is popular in sub cultures, what the rocker and skater kids are into right now, and what was popular in the 50's and 60's. Out of this collection the designers' favorite item is their rockabilly snap shirts, (we have these available in both locations!) "They are my favorite on a little boy and look so sharp and clean looking, with that cool vintage vibe". You will see simple silhouettes, vintage patterns, and stripe knits in almost every collection, not only because they love using them but it has become expected because those are the attributes they are known for. What makes this line unique is the "Vintage flavor", by using vintage patterns and mixing it up with new fabrics. If they find a mixture of these two elements that looks different and still looks cool, they feel that they have succeeded. By the looks of this collection, this is exactly what we here at Cupcake see...success! Be sure to stop in and check it out, and check out their girl's line, Hula Mula, in our Healdsburg location.
