Marc Anthony hired him for wife Jennifer Lopez's 40th birthday bash and now he's coming to Cupcake! Master scissor artist Karl Johnson will be at Cupcake on Friday, June 18th to sit and cut your favorite little one's precious silhouette. Karl is a third generation silhouette artist and one of the very few who still practice this form of portraiture art. And not only is he a celeb fave, but his work has also been featured in numerous national publications such as InStyle, Martha Stewart Wedding, People Stylewatch, Parenting Magazine, Elle Decor, USA Today, Elegant Bride Magazine, Traditional Home Magazine, Country Home Magazine, Domino Magazine, Romantic Home and Nickelodean Magazine, & Ladies Home Journal. Karl was commissioned to do a series of life size silhouette portraits which were featured in the Kip's Bay Designer Show house in NYC. Karl's work has also been featured on several tv shows & movies and was recently commissioned by the Hong Kong Disney Park to create all of the silhouette portraits to be displayed in the silhouette studio on Main Street. Wow! Now that's a lot of scissor time!! Not familiar with the art of the silhouette portrait?
