Mimi & Maggie has been a staple of Cupcake for all of our fabulous years in business. Their collections are for the girls who love color and vibrancy, with appliques, embroidery, and a crazy about of detailing. Their fabrics are soft and often flowy, with plenty of twirl factor. This season's Spring collection stays true to their reputation. When looking through the outfits, you will see plenty of aqua, coral, and lime green, with crochet cut-out detailing and flower appliques from different patterned fabric.
Working at Cupcake, one of my favorite things is putting together a complete outfit for people. I hate coming home after shopping only to find that I don't have a sweater to match that new shirt or regretting not getting those shoes in the store that matched perfectly. Sometimes our online shoppers feel like they miss out on that experience, where someone who knows the merchandise like the back of her hand can walk them through the options and maybe even pull things out of the back, just for them. For Mimi & Maggie's Spring collection, I have put together a head to toe outfit that I would suggest to anyone in the store, to help out with that lack of personal touch you get when shoppinng online. Mimi & Maggie's Jasmine Tea Dress in coral is the epitome of everything bohemian and girly. With puff sleeves, a twirly shirt, and a gathered waist, what little girl wouldn't drool over this dress? But the dress just won't do by itself. Since it is so twirly, every girl knows they need a layer underneath to not show anything un-showable. So go ahead and pair this cutie with the matching Tranquil Legging in coral. I love the crochet details on the side of each leg. Then for the shoes! If your girly girl is in Kai shoe sizing (9.5 toddler to 2 youth), I would suggest the Genevieve sandals in gold with the coral flowers. It adds just enough shine without taking over and the flower is so adorable. Can I have those in my size? Then, especially if you live around here, you will need a coordinating sweater for chilly mornings and nights. Layers are a girl's best friend! I chose Dagmar Daley's Willa Sweater - the coloring is perfect. Last by not least, the hair. I added Mimi & Maggie's matching Spring Blossom Headband, which features all of the same fabrics as the dress.
