About Us

Jenny Romeyn

As the owner of Cupcake, Northern California Wine Country's favorite children's boutique, Jenny Romeyn has merged her passion for design and fashion with retail business savvy and technical know-how.

Born into a world of creativity to parents who were models and a director/producer father, Jenny's desire to become a designer goes back as far as she remembers. Following her aspirations, Jenny attended Arizona State University's College of Architecture and since graduating has worked as a residential interior designer, home furnishings visual merchandiser and wardrobe stylist in the glitz and glamour of Hollywood. Realizing she could combine her love of children and passion for design, she designed and produced a line of hand-painted nursery accessories which were sold through Los Angeles boutiques.

Having relocated from Los Angeles to Northern California, Jenny saw that not only did Santa Rosa, California lack a trendy children's boutique, but that kids clothing stores in general lacked the unique style and design creativity she felt they deserved. Armed with the desire for creating a beautiful and imaginative shopping environment as well as a hard to find selection of unique and trendy items, she opened Cupcake in 2005. The charming boutique was an instant success. With the latest styles by Tea Collection, Kickee Pants, Mayoral and more, Sonoma County shoppers no longer had to drive to San Francisco for trendy children's fashion! Moms and gift givers were hooked, and so was Jenny. "I knew that I loved fashion and interior design, but didn't realize how energized I'd be by the challenge of learning about and growing a retail business as well as the passion I'd have for creating not just a shop, but an experience. I love hosting friends in my home for dinners and parties and having customers in our stores is an extension of that. I want every customer to feel as though they're visiting with a friend when they shop with us."

Speaking of shopping, Jenny LOVES to shop, especially for her stores! Like treasure hunting through the best swap meets and antique shops, when she goes on buying trips she searches high and low for items that are not only the best quality but also unique and hard to find (there's no surprise and joy in giving a gift that someone has seen in every other store). Every item in her stores has been hand picked by her because it was love at first sight when she saw it.

The desire to bring unique boutiques, with quality merchandise and fantastic customer service continued as Cupcake opened a new location in July 2020 in downtown Napa's sought after shopping and dining district, First Street Napa.

In addition to owning her two boutiques, Jenny continues to feed her passion for design and creativity spending her time remodeling and renovating homes for both her own family as well as clients.

Great Experience

Our visit to your adorable store was a treat. My two and a half granddaughter had never been properly measured for shoes before. The sales woman who waited on us was very sweet and after measuring Ruby’s feet brought out 5 pairs of shoes to try. The shoes are well made, comfortable and easy for Ruby to put on all by herself.

Darling dress

Granddaughter loves this.

Cozy and cute

Perfect for my 6mo for the cold Fall mornings. It’s thin enough for her not to overheat but thick enough to keep her warm. I purchased size 6-9 month… it’s a little big on her now but still fits and she will be able to grow into it and wear it through winter
